The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back up on the big screen, and back on top as the winners at the Box Office. The film debuted with $35.3mil in revenue and pushed X-Men: Apocalypse to the #2 position. The shelltastic sequel fell short of the first film’s premiere, which took in over $65mil two years ago; but it was enough to topple the rest of the Top Ten.

The other debuts this week were Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and Me Before You. Both films opened up to $4.6mil and$18.3mil respectively, along with pretty weak reviews. You can see the rest of the top ten below.

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows $35.3 million

2. X-Men: Apocalypse $22.3 million

3. Me Before You $18.3 million

4. Alice Through the Looking Glass $10.7 million

5. The Angry Birds Movie $9.8 million

6. Captain America: Civil War $7.6 million

7. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising $4.7 million

8. Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping $4.6 million

9. The Jungle Book $4.2 million

10. The Nice Guys $3.5 million

Next week, we see the release of three big films. Now You See Me 2, The Conjuring 2 and Warcraft. Given the horrid reviews of the latter, my money is on The Conjuring 2. I’m pretty sure no one was clamoring for a sequel to NYCM; but the first one was fun, so why not. Find out if I’m right on the next editing of Weekend Roundup!
