This Weekend Roundup is a little bitter sweet. On one hand, Despicable Me 2 was #1 for the second weekend in a row with another $44mil. That brings it’s total gross to over $229mil and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. On the other hand, I really wanted Guillermo Del Toro‘s, Pacific Rim, to be the top film this weekend. Unfortunately, it was not.
Adam Sandler‘s, Grown Ups 2, took the #2 spot with $42mil dollars. Meaning, that Hollywood will probably make ANOTHER sequel and Sandler will keep thinking that Grown Ups is acceptable comedy; unlike something actually funny like That’s My Boy.

This weekend should be really interesting. We have Turbo coming up on Wednesday, followed by: The Conjuring, Red 2, and R.I.P.D. all out on Friday. My money is on Despicable Me 2 taking the top spot again, but I’m hoping that the more people see Pacific Rim, the more people will tell their friends and go see it. A geek can dream right? Stay Tuned next week and find out what happens!
