This was a pretty heavy week for movie premieres. We had Red 2, R.I.P.D., Turbo, and The Conjuring all fighting for the top position. Luckily, for the moviegoers, this blogger included, The Conjuring took the top spot. The film was utterly horrifying (in a good way) and on Rotten Tomatoes it’s earned a rating of 85%. With this and The Purge, looks like R-rated horror films have a place in the Summer Blockbuster market.

Next week, we see the return of Hugh Jackman as The Wolverine. There’s no doubt it will take the top spot, but I still have my reservations. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was so incredibly horrible and weird and it made no sense. I’m gonna have faith that James Mangold will resurrect the series. We shall see.
