This is a pretty abysmal week at the Box Office but Eli Roth‘s newest film, A House with a Clock in it’s Walls, did happen to nap the #1 spot with $26.8 million. While that’s not incredibly high numbers, its still pretty decent given the film was made with a more modest budget. Also, it shows that Roth can actually make a top movie outside of his usual horror genre. The rest of the Top Ten really bombed out after that, as you can see below.
- The House with a Clock In Its Walls $26,850,000
- A Simple Favor $10,400,000
- The Nun $10,250,000
- The Predator $8,700,000
- Crazy Rich Asians $6,515,000
- White Boy Rick $5,000,000
- Peppermint $3,720,000
- Fahrenheit 11/9 $3,101,000
- The Meg $2,350,000
- Searching $2,175,000
Next weekend we have an animated feature called Smallfoot and the Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish comedy, Night School. My money is most certainly on the latter being #1 as the competition is still not really there and that combination of Hart and Haddish is sure to bring some movie-goers to the theatre. Find out if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
