Guess it’s that time of year when the kids are looking for cuddly snow monsters at the Box Office, as Abominable was able to take the #1 spot with $20.8 million. The animated feature is from Dreamworks Animation and it went on to earn $11 million overseas, bringing it’s Worldwide pull in at $31 million. While that looks good at the moment, it has a long way to go to reach the $75 million budget.

Last weeks winner Downton Abbey came in at 2nd place with $14.5 million and now sits at a total of over $107 million, pretty fantastic for this little British film. The only other newcomer this weekend was the Renee Zewellger-starring biopic, Judy. The movie premiered with $3 million, which isn’t too bad for a film that probably only cost $10 million at most.
