Civil War takes the Box Office for Number #1 yet again this past weekend. The film was able to secure another $72.6mil, as it edges closer to 1 Billion overall. Standing at $940mil worldwide, it should be getting there in no time. Now, I’ve seen some comparisons between the drop off of Civil War’s overall numbers to that of Batman v Superman which I definitely understand. The big difference though is that Civil War will reach 1 Billion, regardless of it’s drop off, and BVS will not. I won’t fight about which is the better film, but going by the numbers….
The other Disney film, The Jungle Book, did great again with it’s 2nd position overall by taking in another $17mil. The two newcomers Money Monster and The Darkness were in spots 3 and 4 with $15mil and $5.2mil respectively. The rest of the Top Ten is below.
1. Captain America: Civil War $72.6 million
2. The Jungle Book $17.8 million
3. Money Monster $15 million
4. The Darkness $5.2 million
5. Mother’s Day $3.3 million
6. Zootopia $2.8 million
7. The Huntsman: Winter’s War $2.6 million
8. Keanu $1.9 million
9. Barbershop: The Next Cut $1.7 million
10. The Boss $1.2 million
Next weekend, we can expect Civil War to continue being #1 at the Box Office; probably taking in another $40mil. Find out if I’m right or not in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
