Today, we got our first look at Star Wars Resistance, the new anime-inspired animated series, and a promise of more to come when the series debuts on Sunday, October 7 (10 p.m. EDT/PDT) on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW, and Disney Channel VOD, with subsequent airings on Disney XD.
The show looks…fine. It’s set before the events of The Force Awakens with both Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie reprising their roles as Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma respectively. I’m not as much of a fan of this cell-shaded anime as I am of the Clone Wars/Rebels animation; but then, Dave Filoni isn’t the show runner on this series. It was revealed from /Film that Filoni is too entrenched in The Clone Wars final season and gave the reigns on to others.
What does that mean for Resistance? Will it be met with as much enthusiasm as the previous two series? Stay Tooned and find out!
